A story in pictures!! I do find this very sad. It is such a magnificent tree in the first shot (like snow gathered up in a little whirlwind) and you can see the squirrel nest so clearly. But I love the ending - a fitting tribute. And the carefully salvaged nest branch :-)

hmm, now you can replace with a native ornamental: maybe chionanthus virginicus/Fringe Tree/Grancy Greybeard? Or Silverbell/ halesia carolina?
