I've not seen bluebirds all summer. Not since last spring, when housewrens routed them out. What a relief to know they found a new nesting site. May the fledgling and its siblings have enough time to grow before it gets cold.
The visit imparted more gladness than I knew to expect of a few seconds. It was enough for a day. dkm

Did I ever tell you that once upon a time our family took on Cherokee names? Tom's was Swimmer, the girls were Hummingbird, Brown Thrasher, and Dogwood. I was Bluebird.
awww I'm so glad the bluebirds had their babies. Speaking of Loblolly...the word seems to be popping up everywhere. A book called The Loblolly Boy by James Norcliffe won the NZ childrens book awards for junior fiction this year, and at my library this morning, I saw it on the shelf!!! I couldnt believe it as our library is very small, so I quickly nabbed it :o)
Love these cross connections! Here's to bluebirds and loblolly boys. . .
